Ruth was appointed Chief Executive of the LBMA in January 2014. She is responsible for the success and strategic development of the LBMA, in partnership with the Chairman and the Board. She is also responsible for maintaining accountability to and the quality of, the Association's Membership and Good Delivery Refiners as well as representing the interests of the Association in relation to regulators, investors, media and international precious metals markets.
Before being appointed Chief Executive, she spent seven years working in the Association, initially as Commercial Director and then as Deputy Chief Executive, where she acted as the main lead on Governmental Affairs. She was also responsible for the Association's work on supply chain due diligence, with particular regard to the creation and implementation of the LBMA’s Responsible Gold Guidance. She has represented the Association at industry, governmental and multi-stakeholder regulatory forums. She continues to serve as Vice Chair of the OECD Multi-Stakeholder Governance Group for Responsible Minerals. As Commercial Director, she oversaw the development of the LBMA Conference, the LBMA's quarterly publication the Alchemist and the LBMA website.
Prior to joining the LBMA, she worked in bank finance and US corporate law at the law firms of White & Case and Norton Rose, and also acted as a monitor at the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva. She has an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and a degree in English Literature from Kenyon College in Ohio.

Prior to this, Jean-Pierre was Chief Economic Advisor to the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, and a member of the cabinet of the first President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy. Prior to joining the company in April 2016, Houston most recently worked for Deutsche Bank in London where he was Head of FX & Fixed Income Prime Brokerage and Listed Derivatives Client Solutions in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Kate Phylaktis is Professor of International Finance and Director of the Emerging Markets Group at Cass Business School, City, University of London. She previously held research and analyst positions at the London School of Economics and the National and Commercial Banking Group (now Royal Bank of Scotland).
Kate’s main research and teaching interests are in international finance and emerging markets finance. She is also interested in the development of financial markets, the interaction of corporate governance and asset pricing, and the interaction of capital flows and corporate finance. She is the author of 45 articles published in top finance and economics journals including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Journal of International Money and Finance, Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Journal of Development Economics. In 2012 he was asked to join Woodman Asset Management in Switzerland as Head of Trading and to build up the trading activities in the newly established Woodman Asset Management and grow the business. In his various roles in Woodman was managing Woodman Group’s currency exposure and currency mandates plus the overall responsibility of the execution/trading.

Darryl Hooker is Founder and CEO of Harperdan Consulting a London-based forex consulting firm. He is also chairman of the International Ruble Settlement Forum as well as a committee member of the Financial Markets Association
He was previously a consultant for Capitolis. Before that, he was co-head of EBS BrokerTec Markets, ICAP's electronic foreign exchange and fixed-income trading business. Before it was acquired by ICAP and combined with BrokerTec, he was global head of EBS Market. He played a critical role in new business initiatives with a specific focus on emerging markets.
Hooker served at EBS and other ICAP subsidiaries for more than 15 years, most recently as head of strategic currency initiatives. He led many successful initiatives at EBS, including the launch of EBS’s Russian Ruble campaign. More recently, he managed the growth of EBS’s CNH proposition, which resulted in increased volumes, market share and presence. Earlier he was head of strategic currency initiatives at EBS
Harwood Alternative Investment Consulting
Chris has recently started his own consultancy, Harwood Alternative Investment Consulting, after several years at Allianz Global Investors developing the group’s alternative investment capabilities.
Chris has worked for over 10 years within alternative investments as an analyst, consultant and lawyer focused on strategies across both public and private markets. Chris is a UK qualified solicitor (non-practicing) who trained with Travers Smith LLP specializing in financial services, corporate finance, and derivatives and has acted on behalf of major pension schemes, asset managers and government institutions.
He holds a Masters in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Merton College, Oxford University.
